Luga
The Nimble Seekers
Of all Edain's peoples, the rabbitlike Luga are her most diminutive by far, even accounting for their bipedal nature. Contrary to their size, however, is their quickness of body and mind. Their powerful legs let them leap and dash across jagged terrain—a valuable trait in the arid regions of their homeland, [[Oranyon]]. They also possess keen hearing and sight, and long tails to grant them fine balance.
Luga take their size in stride and use it to their advantage. Not only do their flexible bones let them squeeze through tight gaps, but their tiny digits can manipulate fine materials that other races can't, leading many modern Luga to excel at goldsmithing, weaving, and engineering. However, they were not always known for their entrepreneurship. Before the [[Bit'dinah]] rule, Luga in Oranyon and [[Akhtar]] were often manipulated for labor if not outright enslaved—a circumstance reluctantly attributed to the Lugai habit to take pleasure in following orders.
The Luga's obedience is not unfounded rhetoric; most Luga are born with a compulsion to take order from creatures of greater size or standing. Conversely, a rare few Luga are born with the need to command and lead. This hierarchy is the basis of traditional Luga tribes, where many submittors follow a few dominants.
Although Luga have typical mammalian biology, their dimorphism is subtle and they lack an innate concept of gender. Lugai self-expression varies greatly from person to person, often evolving throughout one's life. City-bound Luga are conversely more likely to adopt binary traits and pronouns—a thing chiefly influenced by non-Lugai tongues.
